Cottage Garden Meets Pocket Prairie
Ecological Cottage
A traditional grass front lawn converted to a cottage garden that hosts several native insects, dozens of edible herbs and foods, and even a small quail coop.
KC Pet Project Sensory Gardens
Thumbless partnered with KC Pet Project, Kansas City Community Gardens and a local Girl Scout troop to design and install a sensory garden for the dogs awaiting homes. Food grown in this garden is turned into enrichment for the animals.
Edible Fence
A Small backyard in need of a fence was closed off with raised garden beds and trellising instead of traditional metal or wood fencing. This adds productive growing space at a fraction of the cost to install a tradtional fence.
